Supporting the Ecosystem Restoration Concession of PT ABT in the Bukit Tigapuluh Landscape - WWF DE 2024
PROJECT
in progress
Description
This project supports the ecosystem restoration concession of PT Alam Bukit Tigapuluh (PT ABT) in the Bukit Tigapuluh landscape, one of the last intact lowland forests in central Sumatra. Implemented with WWF Germany (WWF DE), the project focuses on forest protection and restoration to improve habitat quality and connectivity for critically endangered species such as Sumatran tigers, elephants, and orangutans. The project matters because safeguarding this buffer landscape is essential to maintain ecosystem integrity, conserve biodiversity, protect carbon stocks, and sustain ecosystem services that local communities depend on for their livelihoods and well-being.
