Supporting the Ecosystem Restoration Concession of PT ABT in Bukit Tigapuluh landscape – (WWF DE 2025)
PROJECT
in progress
Description
This project supports the ecosystem restoration concession of PT Alam Bukit Tigapuluh (PT ABT) within the Bukit Tigapuluh landscape, one of the last intact lowland forests in central Sumatra. It focuses on protecting and restoring degraded forest areas to strengthen habitat for critically endangered species such as Sumatran tigers, elephants, and orangutans, while maintaining vital ecosystem services for local communities. By contributing 30 hectares to PT ABT’s broader restoration targets, the project accelerates landscape-scale conservation, improves wildlife connectivity, safeguards water resources, and supports community partnerships through sustainable forest management and non-timber forest product development.
