Landscape Restoration in the RBBBH Landscape to Strengthen Sumatran Tiger Habitat and Connectivity
PROJECT
finished
Description
This project focuses on restoring degraded forests within the Rimbang Baling–Bukit Buleh–Batang Hari (RBBBH) landscape to strengthen habitat quality and ecological connectivity for the Critically Endangered Sumatran tiger. By rehabilitating key forest areas and supporting community-based forest management, the project reduces habitat fragmentation, enhances wildlife corridors, and improves ecosystem resilience. The initiative matters because the RBBBH landscape is a vital stronghold for Sumatran tigers and other biodiversity, and its restoration is essential to secure long-term conservation outcomes while sustaining ecosystem services and livelihoods for local communities.
