Pilot 2 - Faith-based Sumatran Tiger Conservation and Habitat Restoration

Our overall goal is to engage faith communities in the Rimbang Baling Betabuh and Batang Hari Lansdcape to restore 400-500 ha of this important tiger habitat in the longer team. The legacy fund will enable our team to lay the groundwork for this, beginning with a pilot in two community forest and three peantren (islamic boarding schools) on about 20 ha. Of faith-held lands. We will work with LPHN (Lembaga Pengelolaan Hutan Nagari/ a traditional village-based Forest Management Institution) and pesantren that require support to build capacity and restore degraded areas.
